Med Tac Scholarships 2024

The students below are being awarded the 2024 Med Tac Global Scholarships. Their commitment to helping others by teaching bystander rescue care is inspiring and will save lives.

My name is Adeline Hlava, and I am a junior at Laguna Beach High School. At my school, I have been a member of Model United Nations and the Mock Trial team since freshman year. Additionally, I am currently a Star Scout in Troop 35, and I have been an active member since 2020. The MedTac student outreach program aligns with my goals and values as a student, citizen, and scout. After high school, I aim to study in a health field and attend pharmacy school. As an active member of my community, I want others to feel confident in their abilities to help people when they need it most. Programs like Scouts BSA have taught me what to do in an emergency; Model United Nations has taught me that I thrive in leadership roles. Service to others is not only beneficial to society but to oneself. MedTac’s program grants individuals the ability to save lives through bystander care, which has an immeasurable impact on our world. Given this, I am eagerly looking forward to participating in the MedTac program at Laguna Beach High School.

My name is Spencer Win Anderson. I am 16 years old and a junior at Laguna Beach High School, and I believe I am an excellent candidate to be a MedTac leader. MedTac’s mission to teach critical bystander care skills that save lives aligns with my desire to make a positive impact in my community. Being a leader for MedTac would allow me to develop my skills in emergency medical care while also sharing what I learn with others. I know that in those first initial moments of an emergency, action is vital, and I want to be capable of saving someone’s life. There is nothing more terrifying than feeling helpless and unsure of what to do. I want to be able to empower others as well to be able to step in and be the difference between someone’s life and death. In addition to my passion for helping my community, I have also demonstrated leadership and commitment in other areas of my life. I am actively involved in my school’s Model United Nations class, where I have taken on roles that require organization, communication, and collaboration. These experiences have strengthened my ability to lead a team, solve problems, and create a positive environment. Overall, I am confident that I can apply both my passions and past experience to assume the position of a MedTac leader.
