John Little joined the Los Angeles Fire Department in 1972 and worked as a Firefighter, Paramedic and Arson Investigator until he retired in 2011. As a firefighter/paramedic, John worked high incident areas of the city and was assigned as a scuba diver and to air operations. Once assigned to the Arson Counter Terrorism Section, John investigated over 5,000 fire scenes to determine the origin and cause of the fires. Johns professional work career also included testifying as an expert witness in municipal, superior and federal courts. For several years, John was detailed to the United States Treasury, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF). Due to his expertise in the area of fire investigation, John was assigned to the High Impact team. The High Impact Team was tasked with conducting immediate follow-ups in high profile cases and cases where the circumstances dictated if suspect(s) were not taken into custody immediately, there would be serious risk to the life of the victim(s) or a serious threat to the community. John was always the top producer of investigations and arrests.
John served as a reserve police officer with Los Angele Police Department from 1982 to 2004. During his time with the LAPD, John was assigned the following details: Hollywood Patrol, Fugitive Task Force, Criminal Conspiracy Section, Robbery/Homicide, Chief Protection Detail, and the Metropolitan Division.
After his retirement from the LAFD, John became an instructor with Saddleback memorial Hospital, working in the Profession Development Unit, instructing basic and advanced cardiac life support. John also volunteers his time with Saddleback Church as a CPR/First aid instructor, healthcare ministry, high school ministry and dignitary protection for Pastor Rick Warren.
John has been married to his wife, Cindy for 21 years. They currently reside in Lake Forest. John has two sons, Eric and Lance, two step-daughters, Carly and Michelle, and one step son Nick. John and Cindy have a total of 11 grandchildren.
